Hello!  I am a maritime professional with broad operational and technological experience across a variety of naval warfare and ocean industry communities.  As a Navy Surface Warfare Officer, I attained the rank of Captain (O-6) and served aboard a variety of cruiser-destroyer ships.   A qualified Joint Service Officer, I  commanded a Guided Missile Frigate in San Diego.  My Navy subspecialty was Politico-Military Affairs and I served in strategic planning roles on the Joint Staff J-8 and on the faculty of the Naval War College. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology (School of Engineering) as well as Master's Degrees in National Security Affairs, Business Management and Strategic Planning.


My post-Navy professional experience includes the following:


  • Operations and Division Manager at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC, later Leidos), with offices in Newport, Rhode Island and Mystic, Connecticut.

    • Provided at-sea, operational hydrographic survey services to NOAA and the US Navy

    • Maintained the Navy’s hydrographic survey software suite, ISS-60 and the associated post-processing software, SABER. Technical support contractor for NUWC Spartan Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs)

    • Lead defense contractor support to NUWC Newport, Code 50 on periscope programs 

    • Hydrographic survey contractor for a range of commercial customers, including Alcatel, Global Crossing, Svitzer and others

    • Primary audio-visual systems support to Naval Base Newport and the Naval War College

  • 2012-2019, Senior Director for Business Development at Liquid Robotics Inc (LRI), a Boeing Company

    • Primary interface between ​LRI and Navy/DARPA stakeholders, Senior Navy leaders

    • Have been the "face" of LRI's Wave Glider USV technology at NDIA, Navy Submarine League, Navy League, Southeast New England Defense Industrial Alliance (SENEDIA) and Surface Navy Association trade shows, conferences and demonstrations

    • Authored numerous White Papers, Proposals and Campaign Plans
